Oh Florence...

As I mentioned before, a group of us are planning a trip to Florence, Italy. What started out as a good idea has ended up crazy and chaotic. Three of the boys came up with the idea that some of us should go to Italy for travel weekend. Everybody started inviting everybody and now we have 18 people going which makes some of the travel details a little complicated. We've had trouble with this trip from the start: First, travel weekend starts at 5am on Thursday morning and ends at 10:30pm on Sunday night. Our plane leaves from Frankfurt Hahn Airport at 11:15 am on Thursday, which we figured wouldn't be a problem...until we realized that the train from our city of Friedrichshafen goes to Frankfurt Main airport...Frankfurt Hahn airport is an additional two hours away. That meant, that by the time we hopped a bus to Frankfurt Hahn, we would have 10 minutes to make it through security and be on our plane...too bad we had already all booked plane tickets. The school staff suggested we rent two 9 passenger vans (two of the boys have graduated licenses), driving to Frankfurt Hahn and then taking our plane to Florence. The school staff also told us that this was our best option since we really are not allowed to leave before 5am on Thursday. The vans will also, amazingly, be a cheaper alternative to the train. Let's just hope that we don't break down on the way there...this trip planning has been stressful but I keep reminding people that the fun part of travel failures is the great stories you have afterwards. Here is just one more travel mishap to add to my list. I'm interested to see what more can go "wrong" haha. At least it keeps life interesting, T
