Our first morning in Paris. It was Sunday so we went to a small cafe down the street from our hotel and had a nice breakfast...the croissants are DELICIOUS!!!!

The Eiffel Tower at night: France is currently representing the European Union so that is why it is lit up in the color blue. The Eiffel Tower was about a 10-15 minute walk from our hotel which was fabulous.

Dad and me at Invalides (the old hospital for the military), which sits directly in front of the cathedral with Napoleon's tomb. The tomb is kind of anti-climatic (which we were prepared for thanks to advice from experienced friends like Jim and Susie), however we did enjoy the armory and the WW II museums housed in the Invalides. And it was all covered with our two day Paris museum pass!

The Champs-Elysses and the famouse Arc de Triomphe. The arch was built after Napoleon found victory at the battle of Austerlitz.

Mom's cooking class in Monmatre. Dad and I got to tag along in the markets which was interesting. Here chef Eric is most likely explaining how to pick out the best chicken: they leave a few of the feathers on the bird and the lightest feathers are the best. Or why it is illegal to sell a rabbit without its head: (prepare to be grossed out by this story) in WWII shopkeepers were selling skinned cat as rabbit, and apparently the only way to tell the difference is by the head. So to keep shopkeepers honest, the government created a law which states that you cannot sell a skinned rabbit without the head. Mmmm.....
